Oh hello, Colarado

This blog should be retitled "Alix Needs to Shut Up" because apparently I am the only one who blogs.

Anyway. Today is Day Four of the Wedding Road Trip. My aunt, my father's youngest sibling and only sister (there are 16 years between them) is getting married on Sunday. So to combine bonding time with travel, my grandparents decided to drive from Los Angeles to Estes Park. We arrived at noon today after leaving at nine on Monday morning.

A recap of Days One to Three:
Drove. Saw rocks. Took pictures of said rocks. Argued with little brother about stupid shit. Missed a Barca match. Hiked. Drove through mountains. Took pictures of mountains. Ate Minion Berry pancakes from IHOP (which I highly recommend - they were fenomenal!). Visited a canyon. Etc.

So here we are, in this fabulous house we've rented for the weekend. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two decks, billiards and foosball tables, two fireplaces, etc. It's gorgeous, and you can see the mountains from all the windows. Rocky Mountain National park is literally *rightthere*

The wedding is Sunday, but because it's a destination wedding, there's a whole slew of activities that my aunt and her fiancée have planned. Tomorrow morning is white water rafting, and Saturday I'm sneaking off and going horseback riding ALL DAY.

But enough about me. How are you, people who do not read this blog because no one loves us? How are you on this lovely morning/evening/afternoon? Good? That's good.

Alix out.

I love Dan Wyatt

As I mentioned (I think), I am currently in Guam. Which means I am far away from the land of American football, including Redskins training camp that Dan has been getting up at like 4 am to go to for the past few days. I actually wanted to go, which is strange because I usually couldn't care less. I am trying to get more into the sport and it was the perfect opportunity. But no. I AM HERE.

But Dan is there, which is a good thing because he GOT ME A SHOUTOUT AND AUTOGRAPH FROM ANTHONY ARMSTRONG! :D

So basically it's 1 pm here and my day has been totally made.

Dan is awesome.

Sorry for the absence

As of late I've been busy with my new job and setting up a sports blog, I currently write for a variety blog which doesn't attract many sport readers, so I'm going to be setting up my own sports blog, and need to find knowledgable sport bloggers. So I'll be busy with that for a bit.

I'm gonna break a rule.

Dan said I couldn't talk about my football. But it's been a long day, so by the end of this post, it will have been mentioned.

I took my grandmother to see Despicable Me today. IT'S SO FLUFFAYYYYYYYY. I sniffled at the end. It was cute. And I want an army of minions! Oh and, Vector is the best villian ever. Because his "crimes have direction and magnitude." I am a math nerd.

On a side note - I just noticed I have the option to type in html. I love html. It's so easy. *Switches to html*

Anyway. After the movie we had lunch at Subway and went shopping. I found a dress for my aunt's wedding in August. It's orange, omg. And knee length and strapless and has pockets. It's so not me, it's absolutely ridiculous.

On a serious note, they changed the drinking age to 21. So my plans of going out with my cousin, Siera (aka the pretty one in the family because she was Miss Guam Universe), were scrapped. So I'mn stuck at home on a Friday night and it's boring.

OKAY. RULE BREAKING TIME.

Thierry Henry is a legend. L-E-G-E-N-D. France captain. Arsenal captain. Barcelona striker. He went to the MLS to play for the Red Bulls (our Rivals on the 95) and scored in his debut match against Tottenham (who play in the English Premiership). And DC is proving to me once again that they may be the winningest club in MLS history but they currently suck huevos. Seriously. I am so disheartened :'(

That is all. Before Dan kills me.

Toodles.

Fasten your seatbelts, everybody.

Hello Interwebs, this is your captain speaking. We have been cleared for take-off.

You know, I wish I was as funny in real life as I try to be here. The name's Alix, aka lilstrawberry, which is a nickname I received from the all-powerful omnipotent Dan Wyatt after I tried my hand at rapping (hey, it was for charity, alright?). You wanna know why? Because strawberries are "cute, small, harmless, and everyone loves them." His words, not mine. Although did you know a lot of people are actually allergic to strawberries?

Anyway. I was invited here because I'm Dan's best friend. I've known him for seventeen years. Yep. Seventeen long years. I moved into the house across the street from his when we were two and we started kindergarten together before I moved later that year. And we've stayed in touch since, especially since I moved back to the tri-state area two years ago. So you could say I know him best.

And let me tell you, the boy is a weirdo. He likes to hug anyone and everyone, especially me. He has an unhealthy obsession with the Washington Redskins and the MMA. He's like my brother, so he pesters me any chance he gets. And He is one hell of a good stand-up comic, I will give him that. Oh, and he's in a movie.

That's Dan.

And I have no idea what I will be contributing to this blog. Besides my awesomeness as Dan said I'm not allowed to talk about football (read SOCCER) because he hates it. Which makes me sad and I'm trying to convert him but no luck thus far.

So fasten your seatbelts, everybody. Because AirAlix is taking off.

It was 100 degrees out today

And I spent it in army gear playing dress up for a movie. I say dress up cause even though I was standing there for close to 8 hours I had maybe two minutes of camera time. I came home with a swollen throat, pounding headache, and was sore all over. Thank god after taking an amount of advil that is not recommended by the surgeon general I have lost 2/3 of those ailments, unfortunately I'm still very sore and tired, that's why this is being posted from my iPhone. Thank god for the iPhone.

So once again feel free to email me at danwyatt221@yahoo.com if you have any comments or questions. And feel free to check out the other blogs I write for (just a note they're mostly sports related).

Movie shoot

So this saturday and sunday I'll be acting in a movie called, Company of the Damned. It's a low budget indie film but exciting all the same, weve already shot two scenes where I had no lines at all (I had a line but it was cut). This weekend I'm excited though because I have a couple lines and actually play a major role in two of the scenes, I'm not going to reveal for what reason, but it's exciting none the less. We'll be shooting out in Manassas Virginia, right next to Manassas battle field. That's about a 45 minute drive from my house. It's actually interesting how I got this role in the first place, see I'm not an actor, just a really bad comedian, but one of the people working on the film was friends with my old rugby coach, so when they needed zombie extras they asked for rugby players, so I signed up. After I had already become a zombie I recieved another email, from the director this time, saying that the actor who was to play Kyle Flick had dropped off the face of the earth and wasn't responding to emails or phone calls anymore, so they were in need of somebody to play a 23 year old male, and they needed one quickly as the shooting was this weekend. Thankfully I fit the description and was able to move up the ranks to an actual speaking role with no prior experience, or even having to read for the role.

So even though I would love to talk more about the actual acting I don't want to give to much away, so I'll leave you with that, the movie will be released on DVD and possibly some film festivles, so once its for sale I'll leave the info on how to buy it, and if it makes any film festivles than I'll let you know which ones and ticketing information.

I also write for a more sports orientated blog, you can check it out here http://602k7l.blogspot.com/, I just recently wrote a rant about James Toney.

Also if you have any questions for me, you can email me at danwyatt221@yahoo.com

Clinton Portis Named the Starter

Today Shanahan announced that Portis would be the starting RB for the Redskins. Well sorry if I think it's way to early to name Portis the starter, no not name a starter, but name Portis the starter. Here's a guy who for the past few seasons had the mind set that he didn't need to show up to practice and that he was annointed the starting job come game day. And unfortunately when your head coaches were Gibbs, who I love to death but was not in his prime, and Zorn, who lets face it is probably one of the most clueless people ever to run a football team, well they let it happen. Portis never showed up for off season work outs or mini camps, and he played out of shape a lot. Now for those of you who don't remember Shanahan basically singled out Portis when he said at his first news conference as the Redskins Head Coach that older players were gonna have to show up at offseason work outs and mini camps to have a spot on the team. So yes Portis has been showing up, good job. But I find it hard to believe that he changed overnight, and the man that was once incredibly lazy and couldn't care less about the team is all of a sudden gung ho about work outs and ready to work his ass off day in and day out and show up to practice, things he has never done as a Redskin. And it's not just his history that makes me think it's to early to name a starter, Larry Johnson is out there working his ass off and actually looking good. Now yes I understand that he has an off the field history, but he has been nothing short of an angel since he was released from KC, I really do think that was an eye opener, and at the same time he is well known for working hard. Naming Portis the starter this soon is a mistake and might lead to Portis gaing a false sense of security and going back to his lazy ways.

It is 3:46 am.

It's 3:46 am and I have surgery scheduled in 8 hours, thankfully it is only minor surgery. Since Febuary I have had an ingrown toe nail in my right big toe, an ingrown toe nail is when the nail grows inside the toe and begins cutting the inside of the toe, and trust me it is actually worse than it sounds. So if you're wondering why it took me three months to get it corrected if its that bad, its cause I'm an expert procrastinater, so this was a breeze. Especially seeing as I actually had an ingrown toe nail in my left big toe that was removed in febuary and i had had it since august. So this one, even though it was worse, was a breeze. The only reason I'm actually getting it taken out is cause I'm hoping to play in a rugby league this summer and can't spend the entire game hopping around, I plan to spend it on the bench. So back to the original question, if I have surgery scheduled in less than 8 hours, why am I awake? Very simple answer.

My brand new blog

Hello already devoted readers, my name is Dan Wyatt. Basically I'm a 19 year old amateur comedian who has an opinion on a bunch of stuff but doesn't like to tell people cause, shit, they probably don't really care that much. So I decided to make a blog so you can choose to read me ranting about bullshit. Hopefully all this goes well, if you want to get in contact with me my email is danwyatt221@msn.com, feel free to look me up on facebook with that email. You can also feel free to look me up on myspace, but then shoot yourself for still having a myspace.

Thanks, love you guys(to soon?)
